A copy of §§ 37-13-5, 37-13-6, and 37-13-7 shall be inserted in all contracts for public works or school transportation services awarded by the state, any city, town, committee, an authorized agency, or awarding authority thereof, or any person or persons in their behalf in which state or municipal funds are used if the contract price is in excess of one thousand dollars ($1,000).

Terms Used In Rhode Island General Laws 37-13-9
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- person: may be construed to extend to and include co-partnerships and bodies corporate and politic. See Rhode Island General Laws 43-3-6
- Public works: means any public work consisting of grading, clearing, demolition, improvement, completion, repair, alteration, or construction of any public road or any bridge, or portion thereof, or any public building, or portion thereof, or any heavy construction, or any public works projects of any nature or kind whatsoever. See Rhode Island General Laws 37-13-1
- School transportation services: means those transportation and related services provided for the transportation of public and private students pursuant to § 16-21-1 and § 16-21. See Rhode Island General Laws 37-13-1
- town: may be construed to include city; the words "town council" include city council; the words "town clerk" include city clerk; the words "ward clerk" include clerk of election district; the words "town treasurer" include city treasurer; and the words "town sergeant" include city sergeant.
