The department of labor and training shall have the power to subpoena and bring before it or the board of safety awareness any witness to give testimony either orally or by deposition, or both.

Terms Used In Rhode Island General Laws 37-23-9
- Deposition: An oral statement made before an officer authorized by law to administer oaths. Such statements are often taken to examine potential witnesses, to obtain discovery, or to be used later in trial.
