  • Clerk of court: An officer appointed by the court to work with the chief judge in overseeing the court's administration, especially to assist in managing the flow of cases through the court and to maintain court records.
  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • Donor: The person who makes a gift.
  • Fraud: Intentional deception resulting in injury to another.
  • Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • Litter: means all waste material including, but not limited to, bottles, glass, crockery, cans, paper, plastic, rubber, garbage, offal, waste building material at construction sites, disposable packages, or containers thrown or deposited as prohibited by the provisions of this chapter but not including the wastes of the primary processes of mining, logging, sawmilling, farming, or manufacturing.   • Vehicle: means every device capable of being moved upon a public highway and in, upon, or by which any persons or property is or may be transported or drawn upon a public highway, excepting devices moved by human or animal power or used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks. See South Carolina Code 48-53-10
