(a) Funds available from the criminal injuries compensation fund, created under § 40-24-107, shall be expended to effectuate this chapter, including all expenses to administer this chapter.

Terms Used In Tennessee Code 29-13-116

  • Division: means the division of claims and risk management created pursuant to §. See Tennessee Code 29-13-102
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
(b) Use of available federal funds shall be specifically permitted to fund this program. In the event federal funds are made available to the state, the division of claims and risk management is hereby authorized to comply with any additional requirements imposed by the federal government so long as compliance with such provisions is not prohibited by, or contrary to, this chapter.
(c) The treasurer is authorized to award an annual grant to the district attorneys general conference for domestic violence and drug enforcement program operations in an amount not to exceed that specified in the general appropriations act each fiscal year. The treasurer is also authorized to provide an annual sponsorship for a remembrance event for homicide victims in an amount not to exceed eight hundred fifty dollars ($850).
(d) In the event that the moneys in the criminal injuries compensation fund are inadequate to support subsections (a)-(c), there is hereby appropriated a sum sufficient to support those expenditures.
