Terms Used In Tennessee Code 29-13-302

  • Commission: means the Tennessee claims commission created pursuant to §. See Tennessee Code 29-13-301
  • Court: means the circuit courts of the state of Tennessee, for the purposes of filing a claim, and any court of the state which has the jurisdiction to try a crime against person or property, for the purpose of assessing the costs provided for in §. See Tennessee Code 29-13-102
  • Division: means the division of claims and risk management created pursuant to §. See Tennessee Code 29-13-301
  • Minor: means any person who has not attained eighteen (18) years of age and who has not been otherwise emancipated. See Tennessee Code 29-13-301

The commission or the division may, in such manner as it deems appropriate, turn over criminal injury compensation awards made to a minor to the juvenile court clerk to be placed in an interest-bearing account for the benefit of the minor. The award shall be accompanied with a petition and order directing the clerk to set up a fund for the minor.
