Notwithstanding any law or rule to the contrary, a food item, including, but not limited to, biscuits, sandwiches, salads, slaw, cookies, candy and other desserts, shall be exempt from the labeling requirements of this chapter if the food item is:

(1) Made on site;

  • Food: means :
    (A) Articles used for food or drink for humans or other animals. See Tennessee Code 53-1-102
  • Labeling: means all labels and other written, printed or graphic matter:
    (A) Upon any article or any of its containers or wrappers. See Tennessee Code 53-1-102
(2) Sold at retail to consumers on site; and
(3) Made from products that are commercially available.
