(a) The commissioner shall develop a plan for the provision of safe drinking water under emergency circumstances.

  • Commissioner: means the commissioner of environment and conservation, the commissioner's duly authorized representative, and, in the event of the commissioner's absence or a vacancy in the office of commissioner, the deputy commissioner. See Tennessee Code 68-221-703
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
(b) When, in the judgment of the commissioner, emergency circumstances exist in the state with respect to a need for safe drinking water, the commissioner may take such actions as the commissioner may deem necessary in order to provide such water where it otherwise would not be available.
