Terms Used In Michigan Laws 432.315a
- Casino: means a building or buildings in which gaming is lawfully conducted under the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, 1996 IL 1, MCL 432. See Michigan Laws 432.303
- Fund: means the internet gaming fund created under section 16. See Michigan Laws 432.303
- Internet: means the international computer network of interoperable packet-switched data networks, inclusive of such additional technological platforms as mobile, satellite, and other electronic distribution channels. See Michigan Laws 432.303
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. Any payments under section 7(1)(f) must be allocated as follows:
(a) Twenty percent to the governing body of the jurisdiction where the internet gaming operator’s casino is located for its use in connection with the provision of governmental services.
(b) Seventy percent to this state to be deposited in the fund.
(c) Ten percent to the Michigan strategic fund created under section 5 of the Michigan strategic fund act, 1984 PA 270, MCL 125.2005.
