Terms Used In Michigan Laws 485.212

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
     Any such corporation claiming any lien as provided for in the preceding section, may recover the amount of such lien in the manner provided in section 17 and 18 of an act entitled “An act to authorize the formation of corporations for the running, booming and rafting of logs,” approved February 4, 1864.
