- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
Upon complying with the foregoing provisions of this act, such corporation shall be vested with all the rights, powers and franchises now conferred upon corporations organized under chapter 111 of Howell’s annotated statutes, and shall in every particular be governed thereafter by the provisions and restrictions of said chapter.
