Terms Used In Texas Finance Code 31.202

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.

Except as expressly provided otherwise by this subtitle, an appellant may appeal a decision or order of the banking commissioner made under this subtitle or Chapter 12 after a hearing to a district court in Travis County as provided by § 31.204.
