- Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Property: means real and personal property. See Texas Government Code 311.005
In this subchapter, “state grant assistance” means assistance provided by a state agency that is available to a resident of this state, another state agency, a local government, or a nonprofit or faith-based organization, including a grant, contract, loan, loan guarantee, cooperative agreement, or direct appropriation, property, or another method of disbursement.
