Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 379A.015

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Municipality: means a general-law municipality, home-rule municipality, or special-law municipality. See Texas Local Government Code 1.005

The governing body of the municipality that creates the corporation shall undertake a performance review and assessment of the corporation once every five years. Based on the performance review and assessment, the governing body of the municipality shall issue a finding of whether the corporation is satisfying the objectives set forth in this chapter.
