Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 379A.024
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Municipality: means a general-law municipality, home-rule municipality, or special-law municipality. See Texas Local Government Code 1.005
- Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.
The board shall appoint from its members a presiding officer, a secretary, and other officers of the corporation that the governing body of the municipality that created the corporation considers necessary.
