Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 383.112
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter to the contrary, any contract between the district and a governmental entity or nonprofit corporation created under the Development Corporation Act (Subtitle C1, Title 12) is not subject to the competitive bidding requirements of this chapter.
