- Comptroller: means the Comptroller of Public Accounts of the State of Texas. See Texas Tax Code 1.04
- Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
At least twice during each state fiscal year and at other times as often as feasible, the comptroller shall send to the county treasurer payable to the county the county’s share of the taxes collected by the comptroller under this chapter.
