Terms Used In Utah Code 54-3-22

  • Answer: The formal written statement by a defendant responding to a civil complaint and setting forth the grounds for defense.
  • Commission: means the Public Service Commission. See Utah Code 54-2-1
  • Public utility: includes every railroad corporation, gas corporation, electrical corporation, distribution electrical cooperative, wholesale electrical cooperative, telephone corporation, telegraph corporation, water corporation, sewerage corporation, heat corporation, and independent energy producer not described in Section 54-2-201 where the service is performed for, or the commodity delivered to, the public generally, or in the case of a gas corporation or electrical corporation where the gas or electricity is sold or furnished to any member or consumers within the state for domestic, commercial, or industrial use. See Utah Code 54-2-1
     Every public utility shall furnish to the commission at such time and in such form as the commission may require a report in which the public utility shall specifically answer all questions propounded by the commission upon or concerning any matter upon which the commission may desire information. The commission shall have authority to require any public utility to file monthly reports of earnings and expenses, and to file periodical or special, or both periodical and special, reports concerning any matter about which the commission is authorized to inquire or to keep itself informed or which it is required to enforce. All reports shall be under oath when required by the commission.
