Terms Used In Utah Code 80-5-301
- Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
- Division: means the Division of Juvenile Justice Services created in Section 80-5-103. See Utah Code 80-5-102
- Youth services: include efforts to:
(i) resolve family conflict; (ii) maintain or reunite minors with the minors' families; and (iii) divert minors from entering or escalating in the juvenile justice system. See Utah Code 80-5-102 80-5-301. Appropriation and funding of juvenile receiving centers.
Funding for juvenile receiving centers and youth services programs under this part is intended to be broad based, be provided by an appropriation by the Legislature to the division, and include federal grant money, local government money, and private donations.Renumbered and Amended by Chapter 261, 2021 General Session
