- Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
- Commission: means the Digital Wellness, Citizenship, and Safe Technology Commission created in Section 63C-22-201. See Utah Code 63C-22-102
- Cyber-bullying: means the same as that term is defined in Section 53G-9-601. See Utah Code 63C-22-102
- Digital citizenship: means the norms of appropriate, responsible, and healthy behavior related to technology use, including digital literacy, ethics, etiquette, and security. See Utah Code 63C-22-102
- LEA: means a school district, a charter school, or the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind. See Utah Code 63C-22-102
- Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business.
- State board: means the State Board of Education. See Utah Code 63C-22-102
- State superintendent: means the state superintendent of public instruction appointed under Section 53E-3-301. See Utah Code 63C-22-102
- Student: means a child who is under the age of 18. See Utah Code 63C-22-102
