Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 12 Sec. 3968

  • Magistrate: shall mean any Supreme Court Justice, Superior judge, District judge, or Probate judge. See
  • Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.

§ 3968. Examination; time; adjournment

When the writ is returned, such court or magistrate, without delay, shall examine the causes of imprisonment or restraint; but the examination may be adjourned from time to time.
