Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 7 Sec. 166

  • Control commissioners: means the commissioners of a municipality appointed under section 166 of this title. See
  • Town: shall include city and wards or precincts therein; "selectboard members" and "board of civil authority" shall extend to and include the mayor and aldermen of cities; "trustees" shall extend to and include bailiffs of incorporated villages; and the laws applicable to the inhabitants and officers of towns shall be applicable to the inhabitants and similar officers of all municipal corporations. § 166. Control commissioners

There shall be control commissioners in each town and city. The control commissioners shall be the selectboard members in each town and the city council members in each city. The town and city clerks shall be recording officers and clerks of the commissioners and be paid as provided in 24 V.S.A. §§ 932 and 933. (Amended 2017, No. 83, § 14.)
