Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 41.23

  • Acquire: when used in connection with a grant of power to any person, includes the acquisition by purchase, grant, gift or bequest. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
  • Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
  • Person: includes all partnerships, associations and bodies politic or corporate. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
  • Property: includes real and personal property. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01

The department may acquire excess or surplus property from the department of administration under ss. 16.72 (4) (b) and 16.98 (1) or from the department of transportation under s. 84.09 (5s) and, subject to any prior action under s. 13.48 (14) (am) or 16.848 (1), the department may sell the property acquired under this section to any person at a price determined by the department of tourism. All proceeds received by the department of tourism from the sale of property under this section shall be credited to the appropriation account under s. 20.380 (1) (h).
