Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 27:23-24a

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
At such time as the New Jersey Turnpike Authority shall acquire the I-95 Extension, the jurisdiction and control of the Department of Transportation over that route shall cease except as otherwise provided by law.
