Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 27:25-5.27

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
16. The New Jersey Transit Corporation shall employ a customer advocate. The customer advocate shall annually provide a report of his or her activities during the prior fiscal year, which shall be included in the corporation’s annual report required by section 20 of P.L.1979, c.150 (C. 27:25-20). The customer advocate’s annual report shall include: a list of any customer surveys performed and a summary of the results of each; a summary of customer experience enhancements; a list of customer facility improvements; and an account of the on-time performance of rail passenger service, including light rail service, operated by, or under contract to, the corporation, including data for each such passenger line.
