Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 27:7-39

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
The commissioner may construct paths or sidewalks and curbing along state highways and other roads and highways under his jurisdiction from any moneys available to the commissioner, and in connection therewith may contract with counties and municipalities to share the cost of such construction and thereafter of the maintenance and reconstruction thereof.
