Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 48:3-90
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
b. Any residential customer that elects to purchase electric generation service or gas supply service, after the implementation of gas unbundling pursuant to section 10 of P.L.1999, c.23 (C. 48:3-58), through a private aggregator must do so affirmatively and voluntarily, either through the customer’s written signature or electronic signature; an audio recording of a telephone call initiated by the customer; independent, third-party verification, in accordance with section 37 of P.L.1999, c.23 (C. 48:3-86), of a telephone call initiated by an electric power supplier, gas supplier, or private aggregator; or any alternative forms of verification as the board, in consultation with the Division of Consumer Affairs in the Department of Law and Public Safety, may permit prior to switching electric power suppliers or gas suppliers and for contract renewal.
