Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 4:7-14

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 4:7-14. A person who shall violate any of the provisions of this article shall be subject to a penalty of fifty dollars ($50.00) for each sale, shipment or delivery in violation of this article or for each failure to obey the order or direction of the department made by authority of R.S.4:7-8 and R.S.4:7-9.

Penalties shall be sued for and recovered by and in the name of the department in the manner provided in article one of chapter twenty-three of this Title (R.S.4:23-1 et seq.), in the Superior Court or municipal court of any municipality.
