  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 5. An owner of a single family residence eligible for financial assistance pursuant to the “Spill Compensation and Control Act,” P.L.1976, c.141 (C. 58:10-23.11 et seq.), who receives a loan from the Water Supply Remediation sub-account pursuant to P.L.1991, c.456 (C. 58:12A-22.2 et al.) shall submit a claim against the “New Jersey Spill Compensation Fund,” created pursuant to section 10 of P.L.1976, c.141 (C. 58:10-23.11i), in the amount of the loan. Any amount paid by the “New Jersey Spill Compensation Fund” to a person submitting a claim pursuant to this section shall be utilized to repay the loan within 7 days of receipt of the payment.
