Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 6:1-59

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. Any person willfully violating any of the provisions of this chapter, or the rules, regulations or orders issued pursuant thereto, except provisions, rules, regulations or orders pertaining to the organization or operation of the Department of Conservation and Economic Development, is a disorderly person and shall be subject to a fine of not less than $25.00 or more than $1,000.00. This section does not apply to provisions in this act, or any acts amendatory hereof or supplementary hereto wherein specific penalties are provided for violation thereof.
