Under the Alabama Code, punishments for crimes depend on the classification. In the case of this section:Class | Prison | Fine |

Class C felony | 1 to 10 years | up to $15,000 |
Violation | up to 30 days | up to $200 |
Any individual who knowingly and intentionally possesses, installs, operates, or monitors an electronic, mechanical, or other device in violation of this chapter shall be guilty of a Class C felony.
