Alaska Statutes 10.55.110 – Excluded entities and transactions

The following entities may not participate in a transaction under this chapter:

(1) a financial institution; in this paragraph, “financial institution” has the meaning given in AS 06.01.050;

Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
municipality: means a political subdivision incorporated under the laws of the state that is a home rule or general law city, a home rule or general law borough, or a unified municipality. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

(2) an insurer regulated by Alaska Stat. Title 21, including a fraternal benefit society regulated under Alaska Stat. Chapter 21.84;

(3) a business and industrial development corporation under Alaska Stat. Chapter 10.10;

(4) a BIDCO under Alaska Stat. Chapter 10.13;

(5) a cooperative under Alaska Stat. Chapter 10.15;

(6) a cooperative under Alaska Stat. Chapter 10.25 (Electric and Telephone Cooperative Act);

(7) a public corporation; or

(8) a municipality.
