Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 41.21.141

  • Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

Land lying within the parcels described in Alaska Stat. § 41.21.140 upon which there are valid entries or upon which there are valid applications for leases filed under Alaska Stat. Chapter 38.05 before March 9, 1972 or that is withdrawn for or selected by Native village or regional corporations under 43 U.S.C. § 1610, 1611 and 1613 ( P.L. 92-203, Secs. 11, 12 and 14 of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act), is excepted from Alaska Stat. § 41.21.140. However, if any land excepted under this subsection is subsequently relinquished to the state, it shall be included as part of Kachemak Bay State Wilderness Park.
