Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 41.21.617

  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
  • municipality: means a political subdivision incorporated under the laws of the state that is a home rule or general law city, a home rule or general law borough, or a unified municipality. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

The state land and water described in Alaska Stat. § 41.21.611(b) is closed to mineral entry under Alaska Stat. § 38.05.13538.05.275, to commercial harvest of timber, and to sale under state land disposal laws. The commissioner may lease the land described in Alaska Stat. § 41.21.611(b) under Alaska Stat. § 38.05.07038.05.105 for a purpose consistent with Alaska Stat. § 41.21.610(a) and (b). A municipality may select land within the Alaska Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve under law.
