Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 41.21.870

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

Trails established under Alaska Stat. § 41.21.864(a) may be used for more than one type of transportation, motorized or nonmotorized, as considered appropriate by the commissioner. Except along highways within the jurisdiction of the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, the department shall provide a uniform system of marking trails and footpaths.
