  • board: means a county transit development board created pursuant to Chapter 2 (commencing with Section 120050). See California Public Utilities Code 120001
  • by divisions: as used in this chapter , means the election of directors by voters of the division alone. See California Water Code 35189
  • by divisions: as used in this chapter means the election of directors by voters of the division alone. See California Water Code 35214

  • City: includes city and county and "incorporated town" but does not include "unincorporated town" or "village. See California Public Utilities Code 19
  • County: includes city and county. See California Water Code 14

  • Day: means a calendar day unless otherwise specifically provided. See California Education Code 48925
  • earned surplus: whenever used in this chapter means the excess of revenues from the inception of operation of the electric system over related expenses thereof, plus accumulated price-level depreciation, plus or minus any additional amounts credited to or charged against customers' equity employed in the business of the electric system, as determined in accordance with the then current accounting practice of the district. See California Public Utilities Code 13093
  • Person: means any person, firm, association, organization, partnership, business trust, corporation, limited liability company, or company. See California Water Code 19
  • Pupil: includes a pupil's parent or guardian or legal counsel. See California Education Code 48925
  • Schoolday: means a day upon which the schools of the district are in session or weekdays during the summer recess. See California Education Code 48925
  • State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Water Code 18
  • Subdivision: means a subdivision of the section in which that term occurs unless some other section is expressly mentioned. See California Water Code 10
  • Suspension: means removal of a pupil from ongoing instruction for adjustment purposes. See California Education Code 48925
  • uninhabited improvement district: means an improvement district having 12 or less registered voters residing therein. See California Water Code 35186
  • United States: means the United States of America, and in relation to any particular matter includes the officers, agents, employees, agencies, or instrumentalities authorized to act in relation thereto. See California Water Code 20
