  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

The director may institute a civil action in any court of competent jurisdiction for injunctive relief to prevent any violation of this part or any rule adopted under this part. The court shall have powers to grant relief in accordance with the Hawaii rules of civil procedure.
