Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 456-8

  • Document: means information that is inscribed on a tangible medium or that is stored in an electronic or other medium and is retrievable in perceivable form. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 456-1.6
  • Notary public: means an individual commissioned to perform a notarial act by the attorney general under this chapter. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 456-1.6

The attorney general, subject to chapter 91, may prescribe such rules as the attorney general deems advisable concerning the administration of this chapter, the commission and duties of notaries public, and any measures as may be necessary to prevent the fraudulent use of a notarized document after placement of the notary public‘s seal. The rules shall have the force and effect of law.
