Terms Used In Idaho Code 67-5903

  • Advice and consent: Under the Constitution, presidential nominations for executive and judicial posts take effect only when confirmed by the Senate, and international treaties become effective only when the Senate approves them by a two-thirds vote.
  • Commission: means the commission on human rights created by this chapter;

  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories; and the words "United States" may include the District of Columbia and territories. See Idaho Code 73-114
  • There is hereby created in the office of the governor the Idaho commission on human rights to consist of nine (9) members, all of whom shall be appointed by the governor, with the advice and consent of the senate, each for a term of three (3) years. The commission shall be comprised as follows: one (1) member shall be representative of industry; one (1) member shall be representative of labor; and seven (7) members shall be appointed at large. Members shall be appointed to obtain, to the extent possible, broad representation of the diversity of individuals who comprise the population of the state of Idaho.
