  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     The Department has the power to purchase land for State park purposes by contract for deed under the terms and restrictions of Section 2 of the State Parks Act. The purchase restrictions under that Act shall include and take into consideration any purchases by contract for deed under Sections 805-205, 805-215, 805-225, 805-230, and 805-255.
