Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 620 ILCS 25/2

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
  • United States: may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     “Airport” means any area of land or water, or both, designed and set aside for the landing and taking-off of aircraft and utilized or to be utilized in the interest of the public for such purposes. An airport is “publicly-owned” if the portion thereof used for the landing and taking-off of aircraft is owned, operated, controlled, leased to or leased by the United States, any agency or department thereof, this State, or any other State, or any municipality or other political subdivision of this State or any other State, or any other governmental body, public agency or other public corporation.
