Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 625 ILCS 5/6-525

  • Remainder: An interest in property that takes effect in the future at a specified time or after the occurrence of some event, such as the death of a life tenant.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
  • United States: may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     The provisions of this UCDLA shall be severable and if any phrase, clause, sentence or provision of this UCDLA is declared to be contrary to the Constitutions of this State, or of the United States, such unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity of the remainder of this UCDLA.
