Terms Used In Indiana Code 25-35.6-1-11

  • speech-language pathologist: means an individual who practices speech-language pathology and who presents himself to the public by any title or description of services incorporating the words speech pathologist, speech-language pathologist, speech therapist, speech-language specialist, teacher of communication disorders, speech correctionist, speech clinician, language pathologist, language therapist, logopedist, communicologist, voice therapist, voice pathologist, or any similar title or description of service.    Sec. 11. A speech-language pathologist may assess and manage the pharyngoesophageal phase of swallowing, including instrumental evaluations, only if the speech-language pathologist has demonstrated competencies specific to the evaluation and management of pharyngoesophageal swallowing disorders through the successful passage of a written test.
