Iowa Code 806.3 – Construction of statute

Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.
state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the said district and territories. See Iowa Code 4.1

Section 806.1 shall not be construed so as to make unlawful any arrest in this state which would otherwise be lawful.
