Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 19-2623

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • Property: includes personal and real property. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

If said grantee is a corporation, it shall have the right to hold, control, acquire by donation, or purchase, and if need be, condemn any land, easement, railroad right of way, public highway or any property upon which it may be necessary to lay, maintain and operate water mains, laterals, and equipment. If it shall be necessary for said corporation to condemn any land, easement or right of way for the purpose of laying and maintaining said water mains, laterals and equipment, said persons, partnership or corporation shall follow the procedure set forth in Kan. Stat. Ann. §§ 26-501 to 26-516, inclusive.
