Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 19-2633

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • Person: means an individual, partnership, company or corporation. See Kansas Statutes 19-2676

Any person, partnership or corporation owning land outside the limits of any incorporated city, said land being located more than one mile from the limits of any incorporated city, desiring to subdivide any such tract of land, may plat the same and submit the plat thereof, together with an abstract of title to the land so platted, to the board of county commissioners of the county in which such land is situated. The plat shall contain a description of the land as subdivided, giving the name of said subdivision, and the restrictions to which the land or separate tracts thereof are subject.

When said plat is approved by the board of county commissioners of the proper county, the same shall be filed with the register of deeds of said county, and after the filing of said plat with the register of deeds the various tracts or parcels of land therein may be conveyed by the description designated in said plat, and said land and tracts shall be subject to the restrictions contained in the plat filed with the register of deeds, as above provided, and the instrument conveying such tracts or parcel of land shall contain the recital subject to existing restrictions contained in the plat of such land now on file in the office of the register of deeds.
