Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 24-604

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

Within twenty days after the said district has been declared a corporation by the court the clerk thereof shall transmit to the secretary of state a certified copy of the record relating thereto, and the same shall be filed in his office in the same manner as articles of incorporation are now required to be filed under the general law concerning corporations. A copy of said record, together with a plat of the district shall also be filed in the office of the county clerk of the county, or counties, in which said district, or any part thereof, is situated.
