- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
All drainage districts incorporated pursuant to Kan. Stat. Ann. §§ 24-601 to 24-640, inclusive, and amendments thereto, prior to the effective date of this act whose existence as a public corporation as stated in the articles of association of any such drainage district expires on or after July 1, 1983, are hereby declared to have perpetual succession.
