Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 40-12a04

  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

The persons proposing to form any such company shall subscribe, acknowledge and file with the commissioner articles of incorporation specifying:

(a) The name, which shall contain the word “mutual,” the names of persons initially associated, the method by which other persons may be admitted to the company as members, the purposes for which the company is organized and the location of such company’s principal or home office, which shall be within this state. The articles of incorporation shall provide for bylaws and for the amendment of the articles of incorporation and the bylaws.

(b) The names and addresses of those persons composing the board.

(c) The names and addresses of the incorporators.
