Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 44-626

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

The provisions of this act and all grants of power, authority and jurisdiction herein made to the secretary of labor shall be liberally construed and all incidental powers necessary to carry into effect the provisions of this act are hereby expressly granted to and conferred upon the secretary.
