Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 34:851.14
- Operate: means to navigate or otherwise use a motorboat or vessel. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 34:851.2
- Person: means an individual, partnership, firm, corporation, association, or other entity. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 34:851.2
- Watercraft: means any contrivance used or designated for navigation on water. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 34:851.2
No person shall operate a watercraft within a water area which has been clearly marked, in accordance with and as authorized by the laws of the state, by buoys or some other distinguishing device as a bathing, swimming, or otherwise restricted area; however, this Section shall not apply in the case of an emergency or to patrol or rescue craft.
